When you lack the energy to move the chair around and engage in activities, you can conserve strength switching on the Power Wheels and direct your energy toward the activity. Furthermore, with the Power Wheels touching the floor, it gives the chair extra directional stability. And you avoid using energy to correct your direction when manoeuvring the chair.
Whether you need a lot or a little help from the Power Wheels, it’s easy to adjust. The Power Wheels has 6 different speed levels, so you can choose how much assistance you need in different situations.
Let Power Wheels assist you when your strength and energy run low. Power Wheels can be easily turned on and off as needed – you decide when and how much power is required.
Power Wheels can be turned on and off with the press of a button. When Power Wheels are off, the chair functions as usual, and when turned on, you can manoeuvre the chair using the joystick.
You can rest your feet on the chair’s base or purchase a footrest if you need your feet off the floor.
The joystick mount can be adjusted so that the positioning of the on/off switch and the directional controller suits your needs. With a single press of a button, the mount can be folded down, so it is not in the way when you need to get close to the table, for example, at mealtime.

Yes, with a width of 65 cm, the chair fits through most standard doorways.
Yes, the brake and height adjustment features can be adjusted for either side, just like a standard VELA Chair. The joystick can be moved with the use of tools.

For your safety, we recommend that the VELA chair is not pulled or lifted over door thresholds while someone is sitting in the chair. This may increase the risk of the chair losing its stability.
VELA chairs are CE-marked and tested for use on flat, even surfaces where all wheels have contact with the floor. For the best and safest experience, we recommend removing door thresholds and small level differences – this makes it easier and safer to move around the home with the chair.
The VELA Chair with Power Wheels is best suited for hard surfaces like wood and linoleum floors. While it can be used on tile, be cautious of any tiles with slippery finishes, as these may affect traction. We do not recommend using the VELA chair with Power Wheels on most carpets, as they limit mobility. For safe and unobstructed movement, please remove any loose rugs.
The chair can be used on low-pile carpets, but this may increase battery consumption and require additional physical effort when walking the chair forward. If you need guidance on using the VELA Chair with Power Wheels in your space, feel free to reach out to one of our dealers.
The battery time depends on how much you use the Power Wheel function. The more you use the Power Wheels, the more battery it consumes. A rule of thumb is that if you use the Power Wheels to assist you the entire day, you most likely need to charge the chair during the day. The intended use of the Power Wheels is to assist the user as a supplement for “walking the chair around” and not for a full-day drive. Watch how to charge the chair here.
