Vermund Larsen A/S, also known as VELA, is a Danish family business that first saw the light of day in 1935.

Vermund Larsen: Pioneer of design, form and function

Vermund Larsen, who was a trained interior architect, found the company on a vision. He wanted to be a pioneer in ergonomically correct chairs, and that is what he did. 

He also had a passion for design, form and function, which is evident in his many designs over the years. In addition, Vermund Larsen created beautiful furniture emphasising comfort and ergonomics.

Same vision – no matter who uses the chair

Today, VELA is still owned by the Larsen family, and we stand by Vermund Larsen’s clear vision. They always focus on design, function and high quality, regardless of whom the chair is for.

VELA’s headquarter is in Aalborg, where you can find the production, upholstery workshop, development department, sales and marketing. We also have another production facility and several sales and service centres over the country, plus subsidiaries in Norway, Sweden the UK and the USA – because we want to be close to our customers. 

When we receive an order, we produce the chair – this we do because that allows us to adapt the individual chair to the user’s needs. Nevertheless, we have a short delivery time to most European customers, as our production facilities lie in the middle of Europe. 

We make chairs for daily use

VELA chairs are built for daily use, every day all year. That’s why we have a strong team that works closely together to develop the VELA chair to give its users quality, ergonomics and comfort. 

We also focus on making chairs for being in use all day – every day, all year round. This means that quality, design and safety are a fundamental part of the chairs that leave production and reach the user. 

We use durable quality materials for our chairs because a chair from VELA must be presentable and functional for many years to come.

We believe that a good user experience is a combination of accommodating the customer’s wishes and needs and ensuring that the customer becomes familiar with the chair’s many options for help and support in everyday life.
