Good ergonomics in the office

'Good ergonomics' does not refer to a particular sitting position, instead it means variation and change in work postures during the course of the day

  • Changing between sitting and standing work postures, e.g. using a sit-stand chair

  • Change between using a chair with and without a backrest to ensure variation during the course of the day

  • Use the chair's adjustment options for the seat and backrest to vary your work posture – move and change posture in relation to your task

  • Move the chair so you are sitting close to your work and avoid postures where you are working with a bent back and neck or with a long distance to reach

  • Use the chair's height adjustment and, if necessary, seat tilt, to avoid working with raised shoulders and arms. A higher chair promotes an erect sitting posture and gives you a better overview
